Drought Growing in Texas Despite Rain

Don't let Tuesday’s rainfall fool you: The drought is creeping back in Texas.

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, half the state is now listed as either abnormally dry or in some stage of drought.

Record rainfall in May helped a great deal in refilling lakes and pulling the state out of the worst drought on record, but 50 straight days without rainfall followed, and the rainfall the state has gotten hasn't been plentiful.

Help could be on the way over the next few months. Meteorologists say the state could get more rain than usual this fall because of the strong El Nino.
