Storm Chance Rising with Saturday Front

The Friday morning run of computer models shows a fairly good chance for widespread showers and storms as a cold front arrives into the region during the first half of the weekend.

As of Friday morning, the peak of the event looks to hit by Saturday evening then rain should move south of I-10 early Sunday morning, leaving Sunday drier by comparison.

North Texas, which has in part already been drenched this week, might experience some flash flooding and we can't rule it out here, as well, thanks to the slow-moving nature of this cold front.

Lightning, sizable hail, and damaging storm winds might also occur in the strongest of storms.

Chief Meteorologist Burton Fitzsimmons explains timing and intensity of the wet weather episode as it looked Friday morning.
