Police Identify Man Killed in East Austin Shooting

The Austin Police Department released the name of the 21-year-old man who was shot and killed on Wednesday in East Austin.

Ruler Stephon Bailey was shot at an apartment complex on 6407 Springdale Road and later died from his injuries the University Medical Center Brackenridge.

The shooting happened after a fight between Bailey and another person, police said on Wednesday. The gang unit was called out to assist homicide detectives at the scene, but police could not confirm if Bailey's death resulted from gang violence.

No suspect has been named in Bailey's death and police are still asking witnesses to come forward.
