Texas officially fired Rick Barnes Sunday after 17 seasons as the men’s basketball coach, but as soon as Monday, multiple media outlets reported that he has been offered the head coaching position at Tennessee and is expected to accept. During his farewell presser, the 60-year-old said he told athletic director Steve Patterson he wanted to stay at UT and finish the job, yet stated he is not bitter and leaves the program with no regrets.
