TWC News App Help

GENERAL INFORMATION

What do all users get on this app?

The quick answer: More than ever. We recently announced that access to most of our clips is now open to all users with no login required. Users who aren't TWC video customers can also view up to ten full shows and archive clips every 30 days. Want to get unlimited access to all video content, including our live streams? Sign up for TWC service here.

What do TWC customers get?

The websites for Time Warner Cable's 24-hour news channels – in New York City, across Upstate New York, and in North Carolina, Texas and California – offer enhanced access to Time Warner Cable customers who subscribe to TWC video (TV) service.

This includes 24/7 access to the live stream of your local TWC news channel, plus unlimited access to all of our video clips including our vast video clip archive.

For unlimited access our video content, Time Warner Cable customers must sign in using their Time Warner Cable username and password – the same ID used to access TWC's online bill pay service, stream TV shows from WatchESPN and HBO GO, access the TWC TV mobile apps, and use Remote DVR manager, Phone Manager and other TWC services.

This ID is free of charge to all TWC TV subscribers, and there is no additional charge for the enhanced website content. However, TWC subscribers with only high-speed data or phone service will have to upgrade their subscription to be able to access our video content.

Those without a TWC ID can still access most of our video clips, and can sample our full shows and archive clips up to ten times per month.  A message displaying the number of free views remaining appears each time you go to view a full show or archive clip.  This courtesy service does not include access to our live video stream.

If you've already set up your TWC ID, you're all ready to access all of our content.  If not, you can register for your TWC ID by following the instructions below.

How do I sign in to watch your 24/7 live stream?

If you're a Time Warner Cable customer who gets Time Warner Cable News or NY1 on your cable box, you can watch your local news channel by signing in with your Time Warner Cable username and password. This is the same username and password used to access TWC's online bill pay service, stream TV shows from WatchESPN and HBO GO, access the TWC TV mobile apps, and use Remote DVR manager, Phone Manager and other TWC services.

If you haven't set up your Time Warner Cable username and password yet, you can easily do so on the TWC Registration Page by entering your e-mail address and following the registration instructions.

Once you have a Time Warner Cable username and password, you can sign in by tapping the menu icon in the upper left corner of the app and choosing LIVE TV from the menu.  Select the stream you want to watch, then tap the "Time Warner Cable" logo on the screen and enter your login credentials.

How do I sign in to watch your video clips?

In addition to access to our live stream, signing in with your TWC ID also gets you unlimited access to our video clips.  When you come across a clip that asks you to login, just tap the "Sign In" button and then the "Time Warner Cable" logo on the following page, then sign in with your Time Warner Cable username and password. You can also login on the LIVE TV page as explained above.

GETTING YOUR TWC ID

I'm a TWC video customer – how do I get my TWC ID?

If you haven't set up your Time Warner Cable username and password, just go to the TWC Registration Page, enter your e-mail address, and follow the instructions in the e-mail that will be automatically sent to you.

For instructions on how to set up your TWC ID, watch a step-by-step tutorial.

Can I create TWC ID logins for other members of my family?

You sure can. If you want other family members to have their own TWC ID logins, just follow these instructions.

ACCESSING THE SITE

How do I sign in to the site to watch video clips with my Time Warner Cable username and password?

Once you've set up your Time Warner Cable username and password on the TWC Registration Page, you're ready to go. Sign in to watch our clips by clicking on the words "Sign in here" at the top right corner of any page, or by clicking the "Sign in" button that appears when you go to watch any video clip. Once you're signed in, the words at the top of the page will change to "Sign out here" and you can sign out by clicking on that link.

Does my login also get me access to the live video stream?

In addition to our video clips, we offer TWC video subscribers access to our 24/7 live video stream – however you must have one of our news channels in the channel line-up on your cable box to access our live stream.

TROUBLESHOOTING

When I go to sign in, I get a message saying "Your Time Warner Cable subscription does not currently include access to this programming."

If you're trying to view one of our video clips, first make sure that you subscribe to TWC's video (TV) services. If you're a TWC customer who has only high-speed data or phone service, you must upgrade to a video subscription for unlimited access to our video content.

If you get this message while trying to sign in to our 24/7 live stream, it's likely because you don't have that news channel in the channel line-up on your cable box.

I subscribe to Time Warner Cable video service and/or I get your news channel on my cable box, but I'm still having trouble signing in.

If you're a video customer and/or you get one of our news channels on your cable box but you're still having trouble logging in, get assistance by visiting the TWC Help Page. Begin by entering your zip code, then choose between live chat, phone support, or e-mail as your support option.

If you'd like to use Live Chat, choose "MyServices Application Support" from the pulldown menu, and a specialist will assist you.

I'm experiencing additional issues with the site.

Please send an e-mail describing your problem to  support@twcnews.com.
