Previous proposal scrapped, new development plans coming for Schoen Place

PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- People in the village of Pittsford will have to wait until next month to find out the fate of a controversial proposal.

A proposed moratorium would suspend a construction project at Schoen Place.

The board planned to vote on the plan at Tuesday night's meeting, however, they postponed the vote to October 24th.

Board members say they need more time to research and re-write the new moratorium.

Village leaders say the old proposal was scrapped and a new one is in the works.

"A public hearing was held in August where public comments were taken," Pittsford Mayor Bob Corby said. "The board has listened carefully to those comments, has done additional research, and the efforts they are currently underway are to integrate what we have learned into whatever draft goes forward."

Village officials say the new law will cover all site plans and applications, which the old one did not.
