Plenty of Puppy Love at 15th Annual Dachshund Parade
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Tails were wagging at the 15th annual Dachshund Parade this morning.
The event drew in hundreds of owners to Washington Square Park to celebrate their favorite breed.
And there was plenty of puppy love to be found. Nearly 400 dogs and their owners made it out to the parade.
During the event, participants were able speak to experts about common health issues Dachshunds face, and services available in the area.
Organizers says the wide-loved breed is the reason so many people come out to walk every year.
"It's just celebrating the breed for the day," Parade Organizer Jennifer Thompson said. "We just feel that it's such a wonderful breed, it's such a joyful breed, they're very loyal, Dachshunds. There are different varieties and we just want people to come out and bring their dogs."
The $1 registration fee supports Verona Street Animal Society and Rochester Hope for Pets.
