Eat to Live Food Cooperative Reopens

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Eat to Live Food Cooperative has reopened its doors to the community.

The community-owned grocery store originally opened in the fall of 2013, but closed after only two months in business. The Board of Directors previously cited the high cost of the building and lack of working capital for the closure.

On Wednesday, there was a lot to celebrate as the co-op offered produce, dairy products and a host of other items. The general manager says the store is working to ensure this community resource doesn't close down again.

"The board recruited a diverse group of advisors and new members really to come together and strengthen the business plan, evaluate what went wrong and move forward from there to see what we can do right this time around," said Jeremy DeChario.

The Co-Op will be open seven days a week. For more information, visit or the store's Facebook page.
