Syracuse While many people are happy to not have significant snowfall in Central New York, the weather in other cities is still having an impact locally. Many people flying to or through major cities along the east coast had their flights cancelled. Gov. Andrew Cuomo asked New York City-area commuters to stay home Monday, if possible. He said that the evening commute could be near-impossible and many major roadways could be closed during the evening commute due to heavy snow and high winds. Down in New York City, they are bracing for up to 3 feet of snow. Mayor Bill de Blasio says he has readied 1,500 snow plows.
