Syracuse The shooting happened a little after 8:30 p.m. at Kinslon Apartments on Butternut Street. Police said an officer encountered a woman carrying a sawed-off shotgun. She ran to the front of the building, where police said she was shot by another officer after refusing to drop the weapon. Updated 02/13/2016 01:27 PM

Scalia, who was considered to be one of the most conservative justices, was appointed to the court in 1986 by President Ronald Reagan. President Obama called Scalia "one of the most consequential judges and thinkers to serve on the Supreme Court."
