Delmar bowling alley owner, former coach sentenced for child porn

The owner of a Delmar bowling alley and former coach was sentenced to two years in prison in connection with a child porn charge.

According to the Albany County district attorney, 61-year-old Marvin Sontz will also have 10 years of post-release supervision, and will be registered as a sex offender.

Sontz pleaded guilty to attempted promoting a sexual performance by a child in June.

Officials charged Sontz after they say he sent a picture of child pornography to a 14-year-old girl he knew through social media.

Sontz is the owner of the Del Lanes bowling center and coached the Bethlehem Central boys bowling team for several years, most recently during the 2014 to 2015 season.
