Architect recalls how Nipper came to Albany's skyline

SPECTRUM NEWS VIDEO: Architect Harris Sanders said he's the one who suggested making RCA's mascot, Nipper, more than six times the size of the original plan.

"They were going to put it right next to the entrance. That little four foot dog they had would be lost on Broadway. They wouldn't even see it. So, I said, 'if you want it visible, you gotta put it higher than the roof. So, I figured 25 feet with a 12-foot base would be very visible," said Sanders. "And it is."
