One Killed After Guilderland House Fire

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. -- One person is dead after a fire ripped through a three-unit home in Guilderland.

Three other people who lived inside the home were able to get out safely Sunday afternoon.

The Guilderland fire chief says crews responded to the home on Carman Road around 4 p.m.

Neighbors reported hearing loud bangs, which the chief says were oxygen tanks exploding inside.

The chief says the fire spread due to the age of the home.

One of the tenants says three animals also lived inside, but doesn't believe they made it out safely.
