Ensuring Access to Legal Services

Governor Cuomo did include funding for indigent legal services like public defenders in his executive budget after vetoing a similar proposal last year. But advocates say the total just isn't enough, and it will still fall on county governments to ensure everyone has access to an attorney. And their efforts are getting support from national groups like the American Bar Association.
