Funding Infrastructure Investments

Infrastructure investment is getting a lot of attention at both the state and national level right now, but as always, there are concerns over how to pay for it, and President-elect Trump has been looking to the private sector for solutions. Here in New York, groups from Rockland County are calling that a bad idea and saying a local attempt at privatization is failing. The water system in the county is privately run by Suez North America.  Members of the Rockland Water Coalition say rates are among the highest in the country but service interruptions are common and so is discolored or bad-smelling water. They're pushing for a return to municipal control. George Potanovic, the co-founder of the Rockland Water Coalition, and Audrey Friedrichsen, Scenic Hudson's Land Use and Environmental Advocacy Attorney, explain.
