'Banning the Box' in Higher Education

Wednesday, the SUNY Board of Trustees will hold a hearing on what is known as banning the box. It is the same concept behind doing away with asking for someone's criminal history on a job application. Advocates would like to see the same thing happen for college applicants. The SUNY Student Assembly has already voted to make this happen. The final decision is up to the Board of Trustees for SUNY. Vivian Nixon, Executive Director of the College and Community Fellowship, joins us to talk more about it.
