CUNY Funding Questions Remain

After initially looking like one of the biggest sticking points in the budget, it now looks like funding for the City University of New York has been resolved. Governor Cuomo backed off from a proposed cut in exchange for CUNY agreeing to a review of its finances in hopes of finding cost-cutting measures. But employees are still waiting to see if they will get back pay after going five years without a contract, something that is expected to cost $300 million. Barbara Bowen, President of CUNY's Professional Staff Congress, explains.
