Endicott Memorial Day Parade Honors the Fallen

ENDICOTT, N.Y. -- People gathered in Endicott to honor the men and women who died serving the red, white and blue.

Residents watched a parade, and then listened to speeches from veterans remembering fallen heroes.

One American Legion commander who spoke had a simple message for people this Memorial Day.

"It doesn't take much to walk up to them and shake their hand and tell them thank you for your service," Commander of American Legion Post 1700 Robert Wood said. "That's all you have to do and it's more than thanks that they deserve, that they really appreciate."

The George F. Johnson American Legion Post 1700 has been serving veterans in the community since 1947.
