More showers and storms expected Sunday
A cold front that moved into the state has stalled over eastern part of the state.
Behind the front you can expect cooler and drier air to make its way into areas near the Virginia border and only slightly cooler conditions from around Raleigh to Charlotte.
As we get into the afternoon and evening hours, we’ll see scattered showers and thunderstorms developing across the state with the best coverage along and east of that front.
Locally heavy rain is once again the main concern with these showers and thunderstorms. A few of the storms near the coast may produce strong wind gusts and frequent lightning.
It appears this weather pattern will hold into mid-week and may quiet down for the end of the work week and into the weekend.
Temperatures across the state will be running close to what is expected for this time of the year.
