Motorcyclist killed in Fayetteville collision

FAYETTEVILLE -- A man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Fayetteville.

It happened around 11:15 a.m. Sunday on Cedar Creek Road at the Locks Creek Road intersection.

Officials say an SUV turned into the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, 60-year-old Daniel Abner, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV, 36-year-old Ronnie Richardson, was also taken to the hospital but was not seriously injured.

Richardson has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and a safe movement violation.
