In Depth: NC Museum of History

Paintings now featured at the North Carolina Museum of History will take you on a historical journey, exploring the cultural heritage, dramatic landscapes, and diverse people that have shaped the south.  And on December 11th, the exhibit Southern Impressions: Paintings From the James-Farmer Collection officially opens to the public.

The exhibit features 40 unique and diverse souther works of art, on loan from a Chapel Hill couple, Dr. Everette James and Dr. Nancy Farmer.  Dr. James received the 2015 North Carolina Award, the highest civilian honor given by the state.  His wife, Dr. Farmer, is a distinguished educator who is a cultural activist, who’s dedicated her life to managing her collections.

The free exhibit will run through July 4, 2016.
