Kirstin joined Spectrum News as the government reporter for the Charlotte newsroom in January 2016.
Before joining the Spectrum News team, Kirstin was the nightside and Maryland State House reporter for WHAG-TV, the NBC affiliate in Hagerstown, Maryland. While at WHAG-TV, Kirstin covered major news stories including the inauguration of Governor Larry Hogan and his battle against cancer, the 2014 Interstate 81 homicide and the 2013 police involved shooting of Wayne Jones. She was also a fill-in anchor and producer.
Before her time at WHAG-TV, Kirstin was a desk assistant at NBC News Washington where she helped manage the MSNBC desk and overnight desk, produced at the White House on the weekends and reported for the web.
Kirstin has a degree in electronic communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Kirstin grew up in Raleigh so she's excited to be back in the Tar Heel State. She's also looking forward to living and getting to know the Queen City! When she isn't reporting, Kirstin loves exploring the city, trying new restaurants and thrifting. Thrifting is one of her favorite hobbies!
