Pleasant Weather Today; Stormy Weather Possible by Friday

Leave your umbrella at home today!  We're in for dry and pleasant weather all day!  With a mix of sun and clouds, highs will warm to the mid 70s over most of eastern North Carolina.  Our beaches will see highs around 70.  Temperatures will cool to the  low 50s for late tonight and early tomorrow morning.

Calm weather is in the forecast again for tomorrow.  Tomorrow's highs will range from the upper 60s at our beaches to near 70 inland.

For the end of the week, we'll need to keep an eye on a storm system that produced severe weather in west Texas late yesterday.  That same system is expected to produce severe storms in Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana today.  The severe threat moves toward Tennessee and Mississippi tomorrow.  By Friday, showers and storms will return to the Carolinas.

The threat for severe weather here on Friday appears lower than locations to our west today and tomorrow.  However, we'll still have to watch for the potential for strong storms.  We could see one round of showers and storms Friday morning and another round in the afternoon.

The threat for storms will come to an end Friday evening.  Sunshine and pleasant weather will return for the weekend.
