Easter Luncheon Held at Charlotte Rescue Mission

CHARLOTTE -- Hundreds of people packed the Charlotte Rescue Mission for its annual Easter luncheon on Sunday.

The rescue mission helps people who struggle with addiction.

The executive director said Easter is one of the best times to give people a fresh start.

"What we're doing is we're celebrating the hope the sorrows in Jesus Christ, his resurrection from the dead, the new life he offers us in a sense. For every person that walks through the doors of the rescue mission, we're offering them that same new life, same new opportunity he offers us,” said reverend Tony Marciano, the executive director of the Charlotte Rescue Mission.

The Charlotte Rescue Mission served more than 1000 meals on Sunday including breakfast and lunch.
